Central team announces partnership with whg

17 April 2024

A range of high-quality affordable homes will help local people in housing need, following the completion of a project involving the Central team and whg.

A total of 67 new homes at our Coton Park development in the Warwickshire town - ranging from one to four bedrooms - have now been transferred to whg who will own and manage the homes as the developer’s housing association partner in Rugby.

The handover was marked by a visit to the Rugby development by Persimmon Homes Central Managing Director Neil Williams and Technical Director Nick Wilkins, as well as Kirsty Powell, Assistant Director of New Business and Partnerships at whg.

Kirsty Powell, Assistant Director of New Business and Partnerships at whg, said: “We are delighted to have worked with Persimmon on the development, which is our first in Rugby. Our new homes, which are a mix of shared ownership and affordable rent, will provide low-cost and high-quality living for local people in a new community.”

Neil Williams, Managing Director at Central, said: “Handing over a portion of our homes at Coton Park is the latest example of our successful partnership with whg which is delivering much-needed affordable homes for local families across the West Midlands. It was great to welcome Rebecca to the site to see the positive impact these homes are having in the region.”

Nick Wilkins, Technical Director at Central, added: “We’re continuing to work hard to prioritise quality and affordability for all our customers. As well as the homes which have now been transferred, the average price of a Persimmon home is 25% below the market average in England and Wales – extending the opportunity of home ownership to more local families.

“We’ll continue to work closely with our local partners to ensure our investment makes a positive difference to communities.”
