Central team gives £1,000 cash boost to Wolverhampton-based swimming club
06 February 2023

A volunteer-run swimming club in Wolverhampton has secured a £1,000 donation from our Central team.
Heath Town Swimming Club is based in north Wolverhampton and welcomes all swimmers who wish to improve their skills, get fit and take part in friendly competitions without the added pressures of intense training, participation, and financial commitment that some other competitive clubs require.
The club caters for swimmers from age 8, up to adults. Costs are kept as low as possible and as a result the club relies on fundraising by donations, raffles and online shopping donations for its day-to-day running. The club prides itself on being accessible as well as focusing on swimming for enjoyment and wellbeing rather than for competitive means.
Tracy Hudson at Heath Town Swimming Club, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes for this kind donation. Over the years, the club has gone from strength to strength and financial support such as this is a wonderful boost as we look towards what 2023 has in store.
“These funds will provide new training equipment, such as hand paddles to improve stroke development, race announcing speakers to create a sporting atmosphere and portable pace clocks that can be positioned close to pool side for younger swimmers to use. A huge thank you to the Persimmon Team!”
Sarah Preston, Sales Director at Central, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s great to see that our donation will help Heath Town Swimming Club purchase some new resources. I wish them all the very best for 2023!”
