A food bank in Solihull has secured a £3,000 donation, helping them to expand their services in and around the community.
Community Essentials received the funding boost as part of our Community Champions initiative. The food bank is run five days per week and is dedicated to supporting individuals in need within the community. By providing essential food items and fresh produce, the team aim to alleviate the financial burden on the most vulnerable members of the community.
Since its inception, Community Essentials has become a vital resource in the community, providing crucial support to many households. The initiative addresses food insecurity while fostering a sense of community and mutual support among participants.
Stephen Palmer at Community Essentials said: “We are incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes for their generous donation of £3,000. This support comes at a crucial time for us, as we have recently been facing significant challenges in maintaining adequate food stock and securing necessary funds. This donation will make a substantial difference in our ability to provide food parcels to those in need within our community.
“The kindness and support from Persimmon Homes will help us ensure that no one has to go hungry, and we can continue our mission of supporting both people and pets during these difficult times. Thank you for standing with us and making a real impact in our community.”
Patrick Price, Construction Director Designate at Persimmon Homes Central, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting impact in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s great to be able to offer this £3,000 donation to Community Essentials, helping them to expand their services around the Solihull area.”
