Central team gives £6,000 cash boost to Birmingham Hospice

Birmingham Hospice has secured a £6,000 donation from our Central team, helping them to refurbish their premises in Erdington to ensure patients receive the highest quality care.
The hospice received the funding boost as part of our Community Champions initiative. The donation will go towards covering the cost of the refurbishment, helping to modernise the rooms that the hospice’s patients will stay in.
The Inpatient Unit at the Erdington hospice has been developed over many decades, with a proportion of the rooms located in the original Victorian building no longer fit for purpose. As such, the rooms require extensive refurbishment to provide people with the privacy, dignity, comfort and relaxation they require, with Birmingham Hospice launching an appeal to help with fundraising.
Luke Manley, Senior Community and Business Development Fundraiser at Birmingham Hospice said: “Our fundraising work helps to provide light, smiles, laughter, empathy and understanding to our patients and their families. Our teams are committed to improving the quality of life for people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as supporting their families and loved ones during one of the most challenging periods they will face.
“This kind donation from Persimmon Homes will help to modernise our hospice, funding the costs of partition works and internal doors across two of our patient rooms, making a huge difference to the privacy and comfort of our patients."
Neil Williams, Managing Director at our Central region, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s an honour to be able to offer this £6,000 donation to Birmingham Hospice to help with the renovation of their Erdington site.”
