Central team helps to kit out Wednesbury-based Navy Cadets
05 March 2024
A youth military organisation based in Wednesbury has secured a £1,000 cash boost from our Central team, helping to continue their work in the area at no cost to the children involved.
Navy Cadet Force received the £1,000 funding boost as part of our Community Champions initiative. The group is a self-funded youth military organisation, teaching the traditions and customs of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines to children from the ages of 8 to 18.
Navy Cadet Force aspires to be able to offer activities and resources to cadets for free, but also relies on the support of donations to continue its work. The funds will help the group with this aim, allowing them to purchase uniforms, camping equipment and cover the cost of fees for camps and parade nights.
Lisa Cadman at Navy Cadet Force said: “We are so grateful to Persimmon Homes and their kind donation of £1,000 via their Community Champions Fund.
“This will enable us to purchase much-needed uniform and equipment for our Cadets, and also enable them to attend training and activities which they would have otherwise found difficult to do so. We are extremely grateful.”
Neil Williams, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes Central, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s great to be able to offer this support to Navy Cadet Force and we wish them all the best with their plans for 2024.”
