CHAS is the winner in North Scotland's charity football tournament

A charity football tournament organised by staff at Persimmon North Scotland has resulted in £2,000 being raised to support Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).
A variety of departments were represented as teams from the home builder’s North, East and West Scotland businesses battled it out for bragging rights in the 7-a-side competition at Stenhousemuir’s Ochilview Park, with the West Scotland side eventually crowned as champions.
Earlier this year, staff at the North Scotland regional office selected CHAS as their charity of the year and committed to organising a range of fundraising activities throughout the year. The team got the ball rolling with a bake sale last month that raised an impressive £500 and also have a charity golf day planned to maintain their fundraising momentum.
As well as supporting the charity’s ongoing work across Scotland, the funds raised by the North Scotland staff will directly benefit Rachel House Children’s Hospice in Kinross. The facility on Avenue Road has a range of facilities, including a hydrotherapy room, large accessible gardens and space for both relaxation and fun for families.
North Scotland’s charity of the year partnership comes in addition to our Community Champions scheme, which sees each of our 30 regions across the UK donate up to £6,000 every quarter to local charities and organisations that make a real difference to people’s lives.
James MacKay, Managing Director of Persimmon North Scotland, said:
“We chose CHAS as our charity of the year because we know the importance of the support they provide to local families during incredibly difficult times.
“The charity football tournament was a really enjoyable event in support of a great cause and it’s one of many events we’re organising this year to support Rachel House and other hospices across the country. I want to thank everyone who took part, as well as many of our contractors and other partners who made a donation and helped to raise a fantastic amount of money.”
