A charity that provides counselling for children has received a £1,000 cash boost.
Relate West Surrey, which offers advice, education, and guidance to couples, families, and children across seven local boroughs, has received the donation from our Thames Valley region through the Persimmon Building Futures initiative.
The funding will go towards counselling sessions for 10–18-year-olds who from low-income families that could not otherwise afford counselling.
Jill Rawling, CEO of Relate West Surrey, said: “We are delighted with the donation given to us by Persimmon Homes Thames Valley.”
“Here at Relate, we are here for every kind of person and every kind of relationship. We want to help as many young people in our community suffering with issues such as bullying, family break-ups and depression as we can.”
“We are heavily reliant on donations, and without these, we would have to deny many children the opportunity for counselling resulting in many being added to the NHS wait list which can be an extremely long time to go without help and reassurance.”
Relate West Surrey has been helping people to work through their difficulties for more than 80 years.
