Club buzzing at £1,000 award from Persimmon Homes

A junior ice hockey team in Slough has received a £1,000 boost from Persimmon Homes.

Persimmon Homes awarded the funds to the girls’ u16 team of Queen Bees Ice Hockey Club through its Building Futures initiative.

Lyn Burton, from the Queen Bees, said: “Ice hockey is a fun way to exercise, teach life skills, learn about anger management and mental strength. We instil in all of our girls the importance of self-awareness and build confidence through playing the world’s fastest team sport.”

“We are so excited to receive this funding from Persimmon Homes, as it will enable us to publicise the club and fund a number of free sessions open to all, encouraging even more girls to come and have a go and take an active part in our sport.”
