Community awards supported by Persimmon
01 April 2021
Persimmon Homes Midlands has pledged £1,000 to help celebrate the local people working to support their community in Rothwell.
The funding will be used by Rothwell Town Council to create a new annual Community Awards programme, recognising the contributions of local people to the enjoyment and success of the town.
The Town Clerk on behalf of Rothwell Town Council, said: “We hope to create an annual awards scheme to boost morale, community spirit and our local economy – as well as celebrating the amazing people who live within our community.”
“There will be a number of categories for people to be nominated in, aiming to make this as inclusive as possible across all generations, and we plan to present this year’s prizes later on in the year once restrictions have been lifted.”
“With the challenge of the pandemic, we feel that a celebration like this is needed more than ever, so we are hugely grateful to Persimmon for partnering with us to help bring the awards to life.”
Details of the awards scheme will be shared at www.rothwelltowncouncil.gov.uk
The funding from Persimmon has been arranged through the Community Champions scheme, which seeks to support grassroots projects, charities, clubs and schools.
Claire Dearsley, sales director for Persimmon Homes Midlands, said: “We make two donations of up to £1,000 every month. We look forward to receiving many more Community Champions applications from groups who are making a real difference to the lives of local people.”
The online application form can be found at www.persimmonhomes.com/charity
