Community cash for Suffolk region for good causes
29 April 2022

Suffolk region has pledged to make £1,000 donations to two worthy local organisations.
Felixstowe Carnival and St Felix Primary School in Haverhill have both been selected to receive the funding from our Community Champions scheme.
Managing director Ian Hamilton said: “There are so many amazing local charities, clubs, schools and organisations making a genuine difference to the lives of people in Suffolk, and we are proud to be able to help with vital funding.”
The annual Felixstowe Carnival is a three-day community event with entertainment for all ages. Attractions include a ‘Last night of the Proms’, carnival procession, free children's area, music from local bands and a grand firework display, and the event provides an opportunity for local charities to run their own fundraising stalls. Persimmon’s donation will help towards the costs of staging the carnival on 22-24 July. For more information about this year’s event visit www.felixstowecarnival.org
St Felix Primary School in Haverhill is fundraising to provide new books for each of its nine classrooms, inspiring its pupils to develop a love of reading. The school, which is just a few minutes from our Boyton Place development, aims to encourage the children to explore different opinions and cultures through books and gain the academic and wellbeing benefits from reading. Suffolk region, based in Great Blakenham, provides financial support for two local charities and good causes each month, through its Community Champions programme.
Ian Hamilton added: “We make two donations of up to £1,000 every month in the Suffolk region, so we would encourage more schools, sports clubs, small charities and voluntary groups to complete the simple online application form at www.persimmonhomes.com/charity to be in with a chance of securing funding for their own projects.”
