Cornwall & West Devon get new Construction Director

Matt Barnett took up the position at our Cornwall & West Devon region this summer, with a strong background in construction.

A carpenter by trade, Matt has run his own businesses – carpentry then building – before working for Barratt David Wilson, where he went from Senior Site Manager to Contracts Manager in less than a year, prior to joining Persimmon.

Matt is also a highly decorated member of the industry having won multiple National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job awards and seals of excellence.

Commenting on the role, Matt said:

"I have really enjoyed my start with Persimmon and it’s still as exciting as it was on day one.

“Promoting the Persimmon Way, ensuring we build top quality homes, leaving customers satisfied, and dealing with challenges head-on are all part of this job, so I’m looking forward to ensuring the region continues to grow and develop.

“With my history in construction dating back to when I was just ten – in the days when you could still go to work with your parents – I’m relishing the chance to make the role my own and deliver on the business’ ever-improving record.”
