Couple lay first bricks for their own new home

28 December 2017

A young Hampshire couple have cemented the foundations for their life together by helping to lay the first bricks in their new home.

Michael Spencer and Natasha McEntee were guests of honour at the Brook Chase development in Purbrook as Persimmon Homes marked the start of construction on their property.

The couple were the first to reserve a home on the Stakes Road development, choosing a two bedroom Morden style house.

Michael said: “It is so exciting that we will be able to watch the house being built, just for us, especially as it is our first home.”

The 25-year-old primary school teacher from Portsmouth and Natasha, 22, who works for SSE in Havant, were keen to find a home within commuting distance of both families, in Cosham and Horndean, and their jobs.

“We currently both live with our parents so were keen to find a home of our own.”

“We were attracted to this development as we liked the design of the houses. The location was ideal as it is in between both of our parents’ houses and the cul-de-sac layout and size of the development appealed to us as there are only 26 homes on site.”

Michael and Natasha were shown their plot under construction by junior site manager Craig Usher and sales advisor Jackie Hill.

Jackie added; “It was our absolute pleasure to let Michael and Natasha lay the first brick on their home. They are a lovely young couple and we are thrilled that they have been able to take their first step on the housing ladder with Persimmon at Brook Chase.”

“They had previously viewed houses at our Parkside development in Portsmouth, and then came to see me on the day we launched at Brook Chase. They spoke to a broker and, within half an hour of us opening up at Purbrook, they had reserved their home!”

“Buying your first home can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. We can offer plenty of help and support, working alongside an Independent Financial Advisor, from working out how much you can afford and finding the right mortgage, to guidance through the legal process and – of course – advice on assistance like the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.”

Persimmon Homes South Coast has new homes developments across West Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.
