Deal on homes for local people marked at major Oxfordshire site

Persimmon Homes Wessex marked its deal with CBRE Investment Management on-site, alongside Pinnacle Group, who will be the registered provider at the site, Airey Miller, and the Vale of White Horse District Council’s cabinet member for planning.

The arrangement will bring 59 quality new homes, built by Persimmon, to the area for local people on the first phase of Valley Park and help address the area’s housing waiting lists.

It comes shortly after Persimmon Homes and Taylor Wimpey – the developers delivering the new 4,254-home community – announced planning approval for the first primary school at Valley Park. The new school, which forms a key element of the development’s northern phase, will include a three-form entry primary school, a nursery, and community-use spaces.

The five-star developer currently has two, three, and four-bed homes available for sale from £245,995 at Valley Park. All Persimmon homes will be equipped with sustainable features including air source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging points, and solar panels.

Once complete, the community will benefit from brand new amenities including two primary schools, an SEN school, local centres, and sports facilities, all within easy reach of further shops, schools, restaurants and services in bustling Didcot.

Commenting, Persimmon Homes Wessex’s deputy managing director, Seb Spiller, said:

“We’re delighted to have finalised our agreement with CBRE Investment Management and Pinnacle to deliver homes for a local housing association at Valley Park.

“This development is a major one that will benefit thousands of families in Oxfordshire, and the significant proportion of it that will be reserved for housing associations is a core part of our mission to leave a positive and lasting legacy where we build.

“Persimmon looks forward to building on our partnership with Pinnacle at Valley Park.”

Cllr Diana Lugova, Cabinet Member for Planning, Vale of White Horse District Council said:

“These modern homes at Valley Park, built with sustainability in mind, will make a key contribution to improving the availability of housing in the Vale - we know this is an important topic for our residents, and it is a huge priority for us.”

Cllr Sue Caul, Cabinet Member for Housing, Vale of White Horse District Council, said:

“It’s encouraging to see the first of the new affordable homes ready to welcome residents. Their eco features such as solar panels and air source heat pumps demonstrate our commitment to making the Vale a carbon-neutral district.”

Oliver Miller, Director of Rental for Pinnacle Group, said:

“Pinnacle has a strong track record of delivering high-quality, well-managed homes. We are thrilled to integrate these properties into our portfolio, not only providing new affordable housing for the residents of Didcot but also helping to create a community that people are proud to call home.”

Iain Stevens – Director at Airey Miller – also said:

“Airey Miller are delighted to be supporting the innovative partnership of CBRE Investment Management, Pinnacle, and Persimmon Homes in delivering affordable homes on the Didcot development and a number of other schemes.”
