Deputy First Minister and Llanharan Community Project welcome housebuilder donation

The Llanharan Community Development Project has received a cheque for £1,000, becoming the latest recipient of Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions scheme.
Persimmon and local Senedd Member Huw Irranca-Davies MS, who is also Deputy First Minister of Wales, presented the cheque at the Llanharan Community Development Project Centre.
The Llanharan Community Development Project supports families by providing childcare, support groups, adult learning groups and a range of other community initiatives across Llanharan and the surrounding areas.
The Community Development Project relies on the support of a dedicated team of staff and local volunteers, with Persimmon’s donation going towards supporting the renovation of their community centre.
From the community centre, staff and volunteers provide childcare provision, a community café, citizens advice sessions, wellbeing classes and much more.
The Community Champions scheme by Persimmon Homes West Wales donates £24,000 each year to community organisations and good causes in the areas it develops.
In Llanharan, Persimmon are developing sites at Michaels Grove and Morgans Walk to meet the local housing demand.
Huw Irranca-Davies MS, local Senedd Member for Ogmore, thanked Persimmon for the donation and commented:

It is always a pleasure to visit the Llanharan Community Development Project who are a vital community-based organisation that go above and beyond to support families and local residents. This money will be a boost to the community, and I want to thank the Project’s dedicated team for all that they do.”
