The builder behind the Carn-y-Cefn development in Ebbw Vale has lent a helping hand to the town through funding its Christmas lights.
Persimmon Homes East Wales donated £1,000 from its Community Champions fund to help Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council bring some colour to the town’s high street for the festive season, presenting the cheque at the Winter Wonderland event the weekend before Christmas.
The five-star developer has two, three, and four-bed homes available for sale from £199,995 at its Carn y Cefn site in Ebbw Vale. Once complete, Persimmon will have delivered 265 high-quality homes for local people, with play areas, sports pitches, and housing association properties included as part of the development.
Persimmon donates £48,000 to good causes and much-valued organisations across Wales each year as part of its Community Champions fund. Recent local recipients include Kidz R Us, Willowtown Community Primary School, and Heads of the Valleys Amateur Boxing Club.
Commenting, Persimmon Homes East Wales’ sales director, Victoria Williams, said “We’re very happy to have worked with Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council with the Christmas lights in Ebbw Vale as part of our Community Champions scheme.
“It is a great pleasure that we can do this, not just for our customers at Carn y Cefn but, for residents throughout the town. Persimmon wishes everyone in the community a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
Cllr Sue Edmunds – Cabinet Member for People and Education at Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council – added “Persimmon have been a real help with their donation for our Christmas lights and we appreciate all they’ve done on this.
“It is always a huge boost when the community and local or national business work together to achieve the best for residents. And we look forward to helping this partnership grow. These lights will hopefully boost spirits and decorate the town and help it look really festive for the Christmas season.”
