A domestic abuse charity that provides wrap-around support has received financial support.
The Dash Charity, that supports adults and children across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, received the funding through the Community Champions scheme.
Providing practical help, safety and emotional support to anyone from any background, experiencing any form of abuse from a partner or family member, The Dash Charity has a range of confidential and free services.
These include: Telephone helpline • Community outreach and advocacy support • 3 refuge homes offering crisis accommodation • Specialist children’s therapeutic support • Educational and training programmes for our community • Support groups
Charity CEO Alison Bourne said: “We support around 1500 people each year and work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to provide the wrap-around support people need to recognise, stay safe and recover from abuse.
“We are accredited by Women’s Aid and have served our community for 45 years, with these past two years being our hardest. The pandemic triggered an escalation in domestic abuse across the UK, but we have managed to keep our services running throughout – keeping people safe and supported when they were at their most vulnerable.
“This funding will help us and importantly it could even save a life. Thank you to Persimmon Homes, your donation will help us continue to find people a safe place to live.”
