Donation for wonderful cause

A charity that provides free holiday breaks for the families of young people with life-limiting conditions has received a £1,000 boost from our South Coast region.
Hannah’s Holiday Home Appeal (HHHA) offers memory-making breaks at its three holiday homes, which are all set in attractive holiday parks near the south coast. The homes are used exclusively by families who have a child with cancer or other life-limiting conditions. Each year, around 150 families take advantage of the facilities.
We have donated £1,000 from our pioneering Building Futures programme, which supports charities and good causes dealing with young people.
HHHA spokesperson Pam Marshall said: “All the families we support have children who spend long periods in hospital, often undergoing gruelling operations and treatments. We aim to provide delightful holiday breaks that the family can enjoy and make happy memories together.
“The pandemic has certainly taken its toll on these special families as with most companies and charities alike. We are so grateful to Persimmon Homes for running such a wonderful scheme for charities like ours to apply to. This kind donation will go towards outdoor play equipment and toys to make our holiday retreats that little more comfortable and welcoming.”
Persimmon South Coast’s regional director in charge, Joe Lindsay, added: “This is such a wonderful and worthwhile cause, providing respite and joy for young people and families who face some really tough circumstances. We are delighted to make this donation and wish the charity every success.”
