Donation helps make a difference for patients

A donation will help a charity continue to support patients throughout Watford, Hemel Hempstead, and St Albans.
Raise, the West Hertfordshire Hospitals Charity received £1,000 from Persimmon Homes North London thanks to its Community Champions scheme, which has run since 2015. The scheme has been supporting the over-70s for the past few months and chose the charity as its August winner. However, from September 1, the scheme has gone back to its original format and is once again available to all charities, clubs and groups that work with their local communities with two donations of up to £1,000 available every month in the region.
Since 1995, Raise has been dedicated to supporting patient care across Watford General, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans City hospitals. Spokesperson Freya Hollingsworth said: “Our hospitals need their communities just as our communities need their hospitals. Every patient deserves the highest quality care and donations to Raise help fund the latest technology, hospital enhancements, staff development and extra comforts that make such a difference to patients, day after day, above and beyond what the NHS can afford alone. Supporters and donors like Persimmon Homes can help ensure that the care provided is of the highest level and that patients and their families will benefit for years to come.”
Rachel Faulkner, sales director for Persimmon Homes North London, said: “We are delighted to be able to support Raise and to know that our donation will be put to such good use.”
