Five-star housebuilder Persimmon Homes East Midlands has handed over the latest homes for those in need in South Holland.
Persimmon have completed work on 12 properties at The Maples in Weston, that will be offered for affordable rent to those on the local housing waiting list and for shared ownership to help people take the first step on their home ownership journey.
The homes have been handed over to Pinnacle Spaces – one of Pinnacle Groups registered providers – who will make the rental units available to families and individuals on South Holland District Council’s housing list.
Four one-bedroom homes and four two-bedroom houses will be offered for rent with another four two-bedroom properties available through the shared ownership scheme.
Persimmon are currently building 150 much-needed new homes on land off High Road in the village, and the latest homes handed over to the housing partner are among 38 being made available to those in housing need locally.
Amy Rowlands, Sales Director for Persimmon Homes East Midlands, said: “We are proud to be delivering these much-needed new homes to families in Weston and across South Holland.
“Persimmon is committed to building high-quality new homes that meet the needs of the whole community, and we have further homes being handed over to our housing partner later this year to further meet the demand.
“We are also launching our staircasing scheme here at The Maples to further support those looking to buy their own home.”
Nick Worth, Leader of South Holland District Council, was invited for a tour of one of the new homes as part of the handover ceremony and said: “I am delighted to work with Persimmon Homes and to be able to provide some quality affordable rent and shared equity properties that will benefit the people of South Holland and those who are looking to get onto the property ladder.”
Oliver Miller, Director of Rental for Pinnacle Group, said: “Pinnacle has a strong track record of delivering high-quality, well-managed homes. We are thrilled to integrate these properties into our portfolio, not only providing new affordable housing for the residents of South Holland but also fostering a community that people are proud to call home.”
“We are immensely proud to announce this partnership with Pinnacle Spaces and Permission in which CBRE Investment Management purchased a mixture of affordable and shared ownership units,” said Andrew Davey, Head of Liability-Aware Strategies and Affordable Housing for CBRE Investment Management.
“This project is another step toward our commitment to helping solve the affordable housing crisis in the U.K. Through our institutional capital, we can start to bridge the gap between the current mismatch between the demand and supply of quality affordable housing whilst meeting investor returns.”
