Eight completions in seven days at Cheshire development
07 April 2020
Housebuilder Persimmon Homes pulled out all the stops on one of its Cheshire developments to ensure eight house completions in seven days.
Dave Hodgson, sales director for Persimmon Homes North West, said it was a tremendous effort by all staff to get the newest Ellesmere Park residents moved in on time.
“Our development of new homes at Ellesmere Port has proved hugely popular, and we had eight completions scheduled over seven days – six of them for last Friday! When the government message to ‘stay home’ came out, we were determined that our customers should be able to stay home in their new home.”
Site manager Will Rudd, who has just clocked up his first year with Persimmon, said he was delighted with how the completions had gone.
“It was a challenge on Friday completing on six properties while practising social distancing but it was worth it. We had lots of very happy customers.
“Ellesmere Park has proved to be a real success story in the last 12 months – we’ve had a 100% positive response from customers, and the development keeps going from strength to strength.”
The eight properties are all in a row - plots 146 to 153.
Jayne Turner has bought her three-bed Moseley house jointly with son Liam – who as a bricklayer for Persimmon actually helped to build the property!
Jayne said: “I was looking to buy somewhere with Liam as an investment for the future, and we started looking last year. Because Liam was working on this development, it just made sense.
“Will the site manager has been amazing ever since we reserved last April – any questions, anything we’ve needed he’s been there. And, of course, Liam was able to keep me up to date on how the build was going.
“It is absolute heaven to finally own my own home. It’s hard to explain but looking out of my own window and seeing my own garden is a dream come true.”
Laura Readman, who has bought a Hanbury style home with her partner Chloe Steadman, said they felt extremely lucky that Friday’s move had gone ahead.
“This is our first home together, and for us this the home we want to settle in, not just a house to move into. We reserved in February last year and have visited every couple of months watching the various milestones – roof, windows, fixtures and fittings.
“We cannot fault Will at all, he has gone above and beyond to keep us updated every step of the way, especially when the lockdown came. It was a little bit nerve-wracking but we feel really lucky that the move went ahead.”
The couple both work for the NHS, Laura is a trainee paramedic while Chloe works in children’s mental health.
“We’ve both had a few days off since moving in,” added Laura. “It’s so wonderful; it feels a bit like we’re on holiday.”
