Four sets of twins move in at Meadow Walk
27 October 2011
Persimmon Homes’ new development in Pontyclun is attracting double the attention after residents were left amazed when four sets of twins moved in within doors of each other.
The families with twins, who are all aged between one and two years old, have all moved to Meadow Walk over the last 12 months, but had never met before. Persimmon Homes’ sales adviser Margaret Owen was left stunned when she realised how similar in age the children were.
She said: “What are the chances of having four sets of twins so close in age move in so close to each other? It’s incredible. Meadow Walk is very much a family development, as it offers some great family homes and has fantastic views over a nature reserve, but I never expected to see so many sets of twins toddling around! It’s been a series of fantastic coincidences.”
Engineers Natalie and Paul Chamberlain were the first family with twins to arrive at Meadow Walk last April, when they moved in with their twin girls, Chloe and Grace, who are now 19 months old.
Rachel Willmington, a senior youth worker, and her engineer husband Matthew, then moved in September with their twins, a little boy Rylan and a little girl Eleri, who are now two. The couple made the move to Meadow Walk just two weeks after their second son, Callan, was born. He is now seven months old.
Just before Christmas 2010, residents were stunned to see another family with twins moved in on the same street as Rachel and Matthew. James Munroe and Laura Rolley have twin boys, Daniel and Rhys, who celebrated their first birthday in June.
The newest residents at Meadow Walk, Carrie and Dan Smith, who both work in the media, moved to the site in July and amazingly set up home just three doors away from James and Laura. Carrie and Dan’s identical twin girls, Betsy and Scarlett, celebrated their second birthday in June, just one week after James and Laura’s sons’.
Carrie said: “I was absolutely gobsmacked when I heard that there were already so many twins at Meadow Walk. It’s really hard to meet other parents with twins, especially ones the same age as yours, so to have three others right on our doorstep in incredible. When we moved in, I saw James and Laura and their boys in a double buggy just a few doors down, and I thought that was a pretty big coincidence, so you can imagine my surprise to find out that there were more. I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone and watching all the children grow up together at Meadow Walk.”
There are still a collection of stylish one and two bedroom apartments available at Meadow Walk and the show apartment is open from Thursday to Monday from 10.30am to 5.30pm. For more information about the apartments at Meadow Walk, please call 08444 901976.
