Fund's for children's respite

Moving Senses Positive Futures is a Liverpool charity that offers respite sessions for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
It is the latest recipient of Building Futures funding from our North West region, and was delighted to be chosen for the £1,000 funding boost.
The charity, which has continued to support the community throughout the Covid-19 lockdowns, provides a range of activities for young people with SEND.
Carmen Escalante Callejo, spokesperson for the charity, described how they will spend their donation: “Our first task is to buy more sensory and arts and crafts materials for children to enjoy.
“We are so grateful for the donation from Persimmon Homes and, if we are lucky enough to receive more funding, we would use this to run more sessions, take the children out on excursions, and purchase well-needed specialist equipment.”
The charity operates with around 40 members, and since starting up in 2018 has provided valuable respite care for more than 100 children, allowing their family a well-deserved break.
