Funding support for Ipswich neighbours
19 March 2021
A project set up to support people living in the IP3 area of Ipswich has received £1,000 of funding from our Suffolk region.
IP3 Good Neighbour Scheme was selected to benefit from our Community Champions initiative.
Ian Hamilton, managing director of Persimmon Suffolk, said: “We are always proud to support grassroots good causes that help to make life better for people living in the communities where we are building.”
Supported by Community Action Suffolk, the IP3 Good Neighbour Scheme was formed during the pandemic to provide practical help and a listening ear to local people. The group offers telephone befriending, shopping and prescription collection, gardening and odd jobs and can drive people to their medical appointments. A weekly pop-up shop and emergency food parcels are being organised and the group aims to expand into debt advice and employment support. To find out more visit www.ip3ipswichgns.com.
Ian Hamilton added: “The Community Champions scheme enables us to make two donations of up to £1,000 every month. We urge local charities and groups to apply by completing the online application form.
