Green light for new homes in North Yorkshire
22 April 2024
North Yorkshire Council planning committee has unanimously approved plans for 92 new homes off Caxton Close, Brompton on Swale.
The proposals, submitted by our Teesside region, will see significant investment in the area alongside 92 new houses for local families, first-time buyers, and downsizers.
Homes on the development will range from 2 to 4 bedrooms. 37 properties will be transferred to a local housing association or sold at a reduced market rate.
As part of planning approvals for the site, subject to the section 106 agreement being agreed, Persimmon is expected to contribute over £300,000 to go towards education.
Plans also include a new on-site play area and delivery of off-site play area improvements.
Residents on the site will have access to over 3 acres of useable public open space, which is over a quarter of the site.
All homes will be fitted with solar panels and EV chargers and will be built to new building regulations offering reduced CO2 emissions and improved energy efficiency, helping reduce energy bills for homeowners.
Richard Holland, Land and Planning Director, Persimmon, said: “We’re delighted that members have granted permission for 92 new homes in Brompton on Swale.
“Persimmon is committed to building high-quality, affordable homes for local people, and this development provides a mix of house sizes for families and downsizers alike.
“Approval of these new homes provides significant funding for improvements to the local area.”
