Grimsby good causes urged to apply to Persimmon’s funding
19 February 2021
Our South Yorkshire branch donated £3,000 to Lincoln charities and community groups last year and we're urging good causes in Grimsby to get in touch.
The Persimmon Homes Community Champions fund supports grassroots activities that improve the quality of life for local people. The scheme enables charities, community groups and schools to apply for funding up to the value of £1,000.
The Lincoln Trauma Centre, which provides physical and therapeutic support for trauma survivors, Lincoln Friends of Anthony Nolan blood cancer charity and Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire were all beneficiaries of the scheme, each receiving £1,000.
The Grimsby Ancient Mariners Walking Football Club for the over 55s also received £600 to fund personal bibs for each club member for when the club can meet for matches.
We’re in the early stage of a new development in Grimsby and believe it is important to support the local community.
Richard Hosie, managing director for Persimmon Homes South Yorkshire, said: “We launched our Community Champions scheme in 2015 and are very pleased to have been able to support so many deserving causes over the years.
“Many of these worthy charities, groups and schools are continuing their work through such challenging times, and with reduced funding support, so we would like to encourage more Grimsby good causes to apply online to our scheme.”
We make two donations of up to £1,000 every month and the online application to the Persimmon Homes Community Champions scheme can be found at persimmonhomes.com/charity
