Help for heart charity
17 August 2021

A charity which focuses on supporting children suffering with heart conditions, and their families, has received £1,000 from our South East region through the Building Futures scheme.
Heartline Families, based in Kent, has been operating for 40 years and supports more than 3,000 families every single day through social gatherings, subsidised holidays, and specialised equipment.
Kevin Ford, chair of the board of trustees at Heartline Families, said: “We are so pleased to have been awarded the donation from Persimmon Homes – the funding will have such a big impact on our children and their families.
“We have two caravans which provide heavily subsidised breaks for our families. Unfortunately, one of these has become damaged due to flooding over the winter, so the money will go towards refurbishing this caravan for our members to be able to use and enjoy again.”
As well as providing subsidised breaks, the charity also produces tailor-made wetsuits so that children who struggle to sustain their body temperature, can take part in swimming activities.
