High interest at Fairways Park development

28 April 2016

The number of house hunters visiting a development in Retford has increased markedly since the turn of the year, according to on-site sales advisers.

Janice Thompson, sales advisor at Persimmon Homes East Midlands’ Fairways Park scheme off West Hill Road, said it had been a busy first four months of the year.

Nine properties are currently reserved at Fairways Park, while a further 30 families have already moved in.

Once complete, the development will consist of 198 properties.

Janice said: “We have had a busy start to the year with a noticeable increase in the number of people visiting the marketing suite.”

“Thirty of the houses are now occupied which always helps as it brings the development to life. It’s far easier for people to imagine themselves living at a development when some of the houses have been completed and are occupied.”

“We’ve recently released some smaller two and three bedroom properties. They have proved to be very popular as they are very competitively priced and are perfect for first-time buyers.”

“There is also a selection of stunning four and five-bed family homes available which are spacious and well-designed with good parking and garages.”

“There is plenty of green open space around the development and Ordsall Primary School, rated good by Ofsted, is very close by.”

Janice said a large percentage of customers had used either the Help to Buy or Part Exchange scheme. Under Help to Buy, buyers might only need to find a five per cent deposit with the Government providing a 15 per cent equity loan.

With Part Exchange, Persimmon helps people sell their existing properties by using its contacts and by paying the marketing costs.

Last week Persimmon Homes announced that it had seen a 12 per cent increase in the number of people visiting its developments across the country.

The firm also revealed that total forward sales revenue, including legal completions taken so far in 2016, stand at 8 per cent higher than last year at £2.15 billion for the company as a whole.

Steven Allenby, Director of Sales and Marketing at Persimmon Homes East Midlands, said: “We’re delighted with progress at Fairways Park, which is really coming to life as new families move in every week.”

“We still have a great selection of properties but I’d urge people to visit our sales team sooner rather than later to secure their preferred plots.”
