House sales fund boost for children's charity

13 March 2013

The work of a children’s hospice charity – which supports young people and their families across the South Coast – has been boosted by one of our regions.

Persimmon Homes South Coast, based in Fareham, has made a donation for every house the company sold in 2012, as well as holding a lavish fundraising charity ball in aid of Naomi House and Jacksplace.

The company handed over a cheque for £12,850 at Jacksplace, the charity’s specialist hospice for young adults, where they are able to receive the care and support they need to face their life-limiting illness in an environment suited to their age group.

Rob Allen, sales director for Persimmon Homes South Coast, said: “Jacksplace is an extraordinary facility, providing excellent medical care alongside the normal pastimes and activities enjoyed by all teenagers and young adults.

“The Wessex Children’s Hospice Trust, which runs Naomi House and Jacksplace, has to raise more than five million pounds every year to care for hundreds of children and young people so we were pleased to do our bit to support such a very worthy and much-loved local cause.

“We donated £10 for every Persimmon home we sold in our region during 2012, and also organised a charity ball, held at the Marwell Hotel in Winchester which, along with other fundraising at our head office and new homes developments across the South Coast, generated £12,850 for the charity.”

Persimmon Homes South Coast completed more than 500 new homes in 2012, across Hampshire, Wiltshire, West Sussex and Dorset.
