HOUSEBUILDER LAUNCHES FUNDRAISING FOR DAISY’S DREAM CHARITY
06 March 2020
A leading housebuilder has partnered with a Berkshire charity that supports children and their families affected by illness and bereavement.
Persimmon Homes Thames Valley, which has its head office in Camberley, has chosen Daisy’s Dream as the target for two years of fundraising.
Daisy’s Dream was originally set up to meet the needs of children who had been bereaved, but in more recent years has expanded its service to encompass families where there has been a serious illness diagnosis.
Gemma Gittins, fundraising manager for the charity, said: “This two-year partnership with Persimmon Homes Thames Valley is incredibly important to Daisy’s Dream.
“Our therapeutic services are all provided completely free of charge and are tailored to meet the individual needs of each child and their family.
A long-term partnership such as this one enables us to plan for the future and reassure families that we will be able to provide them with the support they need, for as long as they need us.”
Ben Felton, Director in Charge at Persimmon Homes Thames Valley, said: “We chose Daisy’s Dream because as a small charity, we felt that our fundraising could make a real difference.
“Everyone is looking forward to getting involved raising money through a number of events, including monthly mufti days, raffles, cake bakes, marathon running and tough mudders.
“Childhood bereavement is a very sensitive issue but we sincerely hope that our fundraising will help families who really need support.”
