Housebuilder’s grand support for Leicester primary school
27 October 2020
A primary school in Leicester has received a ‘grand’ boost from a leading regional housebuilder to purchase new outdoor play gym equipment.
St John the Baptist School has been awarded £1,000 through the Persimmon Homes North Midlands Community Champions scheme. The national match-funding initiative seeks to support groups and charities working to improve the quality of life or environment across the region.
Komal Parmar, member of the school’s PTFA, said: “Huge thank you to Persimmon for these funds.
“The money is gratefully received and will be spent on new outdoor play equipment for children at our school.
“Due to Covid-19 unfortunately we have been unable to host events, which we rely on so heavily to raise vital funds for our school.
“It is a real boost to the school and will support the children who need to have a normal and fulfilling experience at school, now more than ever.”
Nadine O’Dowd, sales director for Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support St John the Baptist school with their outdoor equipment project.
“We strongly believe in supporting the communities where we build. If people were unsuccessful in their Community Champions application, we urge them to visit the Persimmon Homes website and to try again and hopefully they will become our next recipient.”
Organisations are encouraged to apply for funding by completing a simple online form at www.persimmonhomes.com/charity
