A former charity fund co-ordinator has been praised by her employer after switching careers to great success.
Susan Blackburn dedicated over 10 years to the voluntary sector before turning her hand to sales with housebuilder, Persimmon Homes.
Located at its St Gregorys development, in Swarcliffe, Susan has found her communication skills to be her strongest asset after successfully exceeding all sales expectations.
Speaking of her new career Susan, said: “I had always enjoyed my previous roles in the charity sector but felt I needed a new challenge. It was a gamble changing my career in this current climate but I have no regrets and I’m thoroughly enjoying working with Persimmon.
“I truly believe my communications skills, which were vital in my previous roles are now a great advantage to my new position.
“Recognising and understanding customers’ needs is pivotal in helping them to find the best solution, whether it’s shared equity, part exchange or NewBuy I see my role as assisting customers through, what can be considered, a stressful buying process.”
Persimmon Homes’ sales director, Simon Whalley, is delighted to have Susan as part of his team.
He said: “Susan has a natural affinity with customers and this, combined with her local knowledge of the area, has made her an essential member of the team.
“The St Gregorys development has been well received and we feel its constant success week on week is down to Susan’s skill and determination.”
The St Gregorys development offers a mix of two, three and four bedroom houses.
