Househunters in Barnsley benefit from Ian’s pride in the job
23 November 2010
House hunters in Barnsley can be assured of the quality and attention to detail of their new home thanks to the diligence and hard work of Ian Littlewood, site manager at Persimmon Homes’ The Ridge development.
Ian has, for the fourth time, scooped the much coveted Pride in the Job Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) - an accolade established to reward quality management and raise the standard of service to homebuyers.
For over a year, NHBC inspectors have made spot check visits to The Ridge to assess Ian’s performance at key stages of construction, from foundations to the finished product, focusing on all the day-to-day workings of the development.
With over 25 years housebuilding and construction experience, Ian is keen to highlight the role his team at The Ridge play. He says: “I am absolutely delighted with the recognition Pride in the Job provides, but it is a real team effort and I am extremely lucky to be working alongside people, both on site and in the offices, who are as equally committed to doing a good job for our customers as I am.”
Wayne Gradwell, Persimmon’s regional managing director, adds: “It’s fantastic that the NHBC has again commended Ian. This award not only reflects the hard work he has put in on site but gives our buyers added assurance that they are buying a superior high quality home from us.”
The NHBC awards are judged externally from a total of 17,000 construction sites in the UK and the Pride in the Job Award is only given to the top 400 site managers, rewarding the top three per cent of those who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the highest quality workmanship.
