Huddersfield school awarded funding
11 November 2020
A Huddersfield junior school has received £1,000 from us to help fund new IT equipment.
Lindley Junior School was awarded the funds by Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, thanks to its Community Champion scheme. The donation will go towards desperately needed new iPads to support pupils’ educational needs.
Emma McKenna, Deputy head at Lindley Junior School, said: “We are immensely grateful to Persimmon Homes. These iPads will provide a valuable learning tool for our pupils with specific educational needs. The donation will enable us to purchase three new iPads and help us provide the additional support and technical understanding our pupils require, as part of their educational future.”
The Persimmon Homes Community Champions match-funding initiative seeks to support grassroots groups and charities in areas where the company is building.
Christopher Hull, deputy managing director of Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, said: “Community Champions has allowed us to support dozens of good causes and assisting with the education of our younger generation is a very worthy cause.”
