Hull skate park gets cash from our Community Champions scheme for new rails
05 May 2022
A skate park in Hull is set for an upgrade following a grand donation from our Yorkshire region.
Haltemprice Skate Park in Anlaby received the funds from the Persimmon Homes Community Champions and plans to install a new skid rail for learner skateboarders.
Katie Clark, for Haltemprice Skate Park, said: “Our skate park is used daily by many skateboarders in the local area. Our annual maintenance cost is in the region of £3,000 but this does not include equipment upgrades.
“Persimmon Homes’ £1,000 donation will enable us to improve our facilities by installing a brand-new skid rail, ideal for our younger skateboarders to practice and perfect their tricks. We will also be able to use the funds for general repairs and maintenance. We are very grateful.”
The Persimmon Homes Community Champions Scheme donates up to £64,000 to good causes across the UK every month, of which the Yorkshire regional business provides financial support of up to £1,000 to two local charities or good causes in the local area.
Scott Waters, managing director for our Yorkshire region, said: “Our scheme is all about supporting the community and Haltemprice Skate Park is a perfect example of not just supporting the community but providing a venue for skateboarders to improve their skills and fitness.”
