A Hull junior football club has scored a £1,000 donation for a new set of goals.
Football Club Esperanza secured the funding from Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, as part of its long-running Community Champions scheme.
The new goals will feature at the Hull YPI Sports Centre and enable the junior club to enter new teams in forthcoming seasons.
Wes Smith from Football Club Esperanza said: “We currently have about 60 players across five teams and want to take the club to the next level by introducing under 13 and under 14 teams.
“These new goals will enable us to the cater for these older youth teams so more youngsters can enjoy the game and continue playing with the club.”
Each of the Persimmon Homes 31 regional business, plus Persimmon Plc, makes two donations of up to £1,000 every month to grassroots groups and charities.
Scott Waters, managing director of Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said: “We are very pleased to support grassroots junior clubs in the areas where we are building. We wish Football Club Esperanza and the new teams the greatest success. ”
In addition to the Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions scheme the housebuilder has launched its Building Futures initiative.
Organisations working with under-18s are invited to apply for grants to support projects across education & arts, health and sport.
