Lego prize for young Tidworth designer

A Tidworth student has scooped a Lego prize for designing his own dream home in a competition organising by Persimmon South Coast.
Joe Stewart, aged eight, impressed judges with his ideas about what makes a house into the perfect home.
The company challenged the children of Wellington Primary Academy to put their imagination to the test, with the winning designs to go on display at the nearby Riverbourne Fields development.
Janey Marke, sales advisor for Persimmon Homes South Coast, said: “The quality and variety of ideas presented by the children was brilliant. They really let their imaginations run riot and the results were fabulous, which made judging a tough task, but Joe’s design stood out.
“Now he will be able to explore their own construction skills, creating a range of different styled houses with his Lego prize.”
The youngster received a Lego Creator House set, worth around £50, for his efforts.
Jo Andrews, head teacher at Wellington Primary Academy, added: “We encourage our students to take an active interest in their community, and links with local businesses afford us many learning opportunities.”
Riverbourne Fields, on Pennings Road, is a selection of apartments and family homes, priced from £159,995, just north of Tidworth town centre.
Persimmon South Coast sales director Mark Docherty said: “Tidworth is a lovely place to live. In fact, last year, the town was rated by the Royal Mail as England’s most attractive place to live, thanks to the employment opportunities, quality of health and education, low crime rates and housing affordability of areas across Britain.
