Local children lend a hand at showhome

29 May 2015

Children at a Norfolk primary school lent a hand to bring the outdoors in at a new showhome.

Handprints made by pupils from Lingwood Primary Academy were arranged as the leaves of a tree to complete a mural at the Clover Chase development in Lingwood.

The children have also taken part in a promotional video, made by Persimmon Anglia, which can be viewed on YouTube: https://youtu.be/i21eyZAdF-4

Hannah Stelling, from design specialists Fiona Nix Interiors, said: “The vision for this family home was to create a place connected to nature. We felt the type of family that would live here would like to get out into the countryside at weekend, and would incorporate that into their home décor – bringing the outside in.

“As children are the heart of the home, using their handprints allowed us to connect the community with nature and create a fun, family home that the residents of Lingwood could imagine themselves living in.”

The showhome is decorated in fresh, natural colours and the mural takes pride of place in one of the bedrooms.

Karen Lea, interim head teacher at Lingwood Primary and Nursery School, said: “We are always pleased to work with local companies who can provide unusual and exciting learning opportunities for our students. Everyone is very proud of the artwork in the show house.”

Louise Thomson, Persimmon Anglia sales manager, added: “There is a strong sense of community in Lingwood, with the school being at the heart of the village, so it was the perfect opportunity for us to work with the teachers and children when decorating our show house.

“A lot of families have been in to view the tree mural and the children are a credit to the school and to their parents.

“Clover Chase is proving very popular with families, young professionals and mature downsizers – all of whom can see the benefits of this lovely rural setting. Many of the current buyers are using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which means they can secure their perfect village property with just a five per cent deposit.”

Clover Chase offers a mix of two-bedroom bungalows and two, three, four and five-bedroom homes in a small development of just 39 properties.
