Midlands region gives £1,000 cash boost to Stoke Bruerne Canal Partnership
10 May 2024
A group based near Towcester committed to the maintenance of the local canal has received a cash boost to refresh their outdoor areas, thanks to our Midlands team.
The Stoke Bruerne Canal Partnership received a £1,000 donation as part of our Community Champions initiative.
The group is a partnership of local stakeholders, residents and businesses in Stoke Bruerne, working to enhance and improve its canal side setting for visitors and locals to enjoy. Our funding will help to replace a vandalised heritage information board, extend a woodland footpath, and carry out planting along the canal.
Helen Westlake from the Stoke Bruerne Canal Partnership said: “Stoke Bruerne canal centre is a much-visited location by land and water. We are most grateful to Persimmon Homes for this donation which will enable us to complete several ongoing projects for the benefit of local residents and our many visitors from far and wide.”
Claire Dearsley, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to show our support to Stoke Bruerne Canal Partnership. What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to help causes that have such a positive impact on our environment and encourage sustainability.”
