A Daventry-based disability support charity has secured a £5,000 donation from team Midlands, helping them to continue their work in and around Northamptonshire.
Harry’s Pals received the funding as part of our Community Champions initiative. The charity works with children's hospices, nurses and health visitors so that parents living in the area who have recently had a diagnosis that their child is severely ill or disabled can receive the support they need.
The donation from will go towards giving more families the opportunity to benefit from the services that Harry’s Pals provide, primarily through funded counselling sessions.
Hayley Charlesworth, Founder of Harry’s Pals, said: “We believe that every family dealing with the diagnosis of their child being severely ill or disabled should be able to access the emotional support they need at difficult times. We don’t want to let any of the families that come to us down, but we rely heavily on volunteers and donors to ensure we can help as many people as we can.
“This kind donation from Persimmon Homes will help us to continue our work supporting the families we work with."
Claire Dearsley, Sales Director at Midlands region, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s an honour to be able to offer this £5,000 donation to Harry’s Pals to help them continue their vital work throughout Northamptonshire.”
