New customer care manager to head our customer team in the East Midlands

Persimmon Homes East Midlands, which has its headquarters at Peterborough Business Park, has appointed Rob Coleman to the post of customer care manager.

Rob will manage a team of a strong team of eight other people who all currently support customers in the weeks and months following the move into their homes at Persimmon developments in Peterborough, Huntingdon and the north east of Bedfordhsire.

Rob, 55, joins Persimmon Homes East Midlands from a role as quality manager for another housebuilder.

He said: “I was being made redundant from my quality manager’s job at Kier and I realised that my experience in dealing with customers and contractors on a daily basis was perfect for this role.

“I like to visit customers as much as I can as I believe you can get genuine feedback from them as to how they are feeling about their new home and whether they will be recommending us on the important HBF survey.”

Rob says he is enjoying meeting the daily challenges he faces too: “There are new challenges daily, but the main thing is to keep our customers happy with their new homes. Also, I have not managed a team as large as the one I have here before, so that this also proving interesting.

“I like to give the team as much of a free rein as possible and feel after only a short time I can trust them to get on with the job at hand, and they know that I am always there for advice and support.”

Welcoming Rob to the company, Nick Phillips, director in charge of Persimmon Homes East Midlands, said: “We are working hard to ensure that all our customers are provided with the care, service and high-quality homes they rightfully expect.”

All newly built Persimmon homes are protected by a 10-year warranty, which gives purchasers a 10- year structural warranty and a two-year fixtures and fittings warranty as standard.

Nick added: “While we strive to deliver a perfect home every time, a certain amount of snagging is inevitable, such as shrinkage cracks in plaster. We are delivering a hand-made product, built in all weathers, and strengthening our team simply means we can address any customer concerns faster.”
