New director-in-charge appointed for Suffolk
24 March 2020
A new director-in charge has been appointed to lead the Suffolk region.
Ian Hamilton will head up Persimmon Suffolk, which has its headquarters in Great Blakenham. The business operates new homes developments across Suffolk and Essex, including sites in Diss, Great Cornard, Haverhill and Stanway. Ian, from Tiptree, brings more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, rising from a site engineer with Countryside Properties to construction director roles at Barratt and Linden Homes.
Ian said: “The Suffolk regional team was only launched two years ago but has already grown into a thriving business. Taking the reins is an exciting new challenge for me and I look forward to playing my part in the company’s ongoing success, supported by an excellent senior management team. Since 2018 we have created dozens of jobs for local people and this year we aim to open new sites in Capel St Mary, Hadleigh, Ipswich, Leiston and Thurston. I am also keen to meet many of the grassroots voluntary groups, charities and clubs that we support through the Persimmon Community Champions funding scheme, to learn more about the fantastic work they do within the neighbourhoods where we are building.”
Ian’s career has seen him gain significant experience with many of the industry’s biggest names, including 11 years with Countryside Properties and eight years at Bovis Homes. He added: “I have been fortunate to build up a fantastic knowledge and grounding within the construction industry, enabling me to develop operational and strategic management skills working for high specification and volume developers, focusing on production and quality.”
Supporting Ian is a newly formed management team including construction director Stacy Brett, commercial director Simon Rolfe, sales director Lucy Woodhall, technical director Gary Lee, land manager Gareth Mears and planning manager Stuart McAdam.
