New director-in-charge for Anglia

13 May 2020

A news director-in-charge has been appointed to lead the Anglia business.

John Eldridge will head up the team based at Broadland Business Park in Norwich. The company is currently selling homes in Bradwell, Caister, Hethersett, Martham, Norwich, Oulton Broad, Sprowston and Wymondham. He succeeds Andrew Fuller, who is moving on to a new national role as Group Construction Director for Persimmon, having been managing director of Persimmon Anglia for 13 years.

John, from Stowmarket, brings more than 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, rising from a design engineer through a range of technical management roles with other leading builders including Hopkins Homes, Barratt and Berkeley. He said: “Persimmon’s Anglia region is one of the most successful businesses in the group, thanks in no small part to the leadership of Andrew Fuller over recent years. Taking the reins is an exciting new challenge for me and I look forward to playing my part in the company’s ongoing growth."

"These are unusual times to start a new job, but it is giving me chance to see the resilience and resourcefulness of our team. We are all looking forward to being back together at the Norwich headquarters. I am also keen to meet many of the grassroots voluntary groups, charities and clubs that we support through the Persimmon Community Champions funding scheme, to learn more about the fantastic work they do within the neighbourhoods where we are building.”

Outgoing managing director Andrew Fuller joined Persimmon 34 years ago, working his way up from site to boardroom. During his tenure, he oversaw the launch of the Suffolk division of the business, creating hundreds of new jobs across the south of East Anglia. His new role will see him taking a national advisory standards role for Persimmon.
