New land director appointed for South East

18 January 2023

A new land director has been appointed for South East region.

Chris Glover, who has worked in the building industry for more than 10 years, joins Persimmon from Countryside where he served as Senior Land Manager.

He will be responsible for overseeing land acquisitions, working closely with our planning team to develop progress across the South East to align with the region’s growth strategy.

Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the business – During his career working for both private and PLC housebuilders he has secured a wide range of strategic and short-term opportunities, overseeing the purchase of over £500m GDV of development land across the south east.

Welcoming Chris to South East, Managing Director, Martin Crick said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Chris to Persimmon South East.

“Chris has a wealth of experience that will strengthen the team.  He will oversee the vital identification and acquisition of land opportunities of much-needed new homes for people across Kent, as we deliver on our vision to be the nation’s leading housebuilder.

“His appointment will strengthen our team for the region as we begin the New Year off the back of Persimmon performing strongly in the second half of last year. In 2023 we will take a highly selective approach to any new land purchases, investing only where we see the very best opportunities”

Commenting on his appointment, Chris said:

“This is a great opportunity and I’m looking forward to working with the team, key stakeholders and local communities to deliver the very best land opportunities.

“Over the past couple of years, the business has made huge strides forward, which was typified with its recent five-star housebuilder rating. This will be a significant period for the business as we navigate our way through the year strategically identifying land purchases that strengthens our industry leading portfolio.
