New man at the helm for housebuilder
05 November 2013
The UK’s leading house builder has strengthened its South Coast team with the appointment of a new sales director.
Mark Docherty joins Persimmon at its Fareham regional headquarters with a remit to drive continued growth and deliver quality affordable homes throughout West Sussex, Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset.
Mark, 45, brings more than 20 years’ experience in the property industry, having previously held director roles at Linden Homes and Barratt and, prior to that, working for a national chain of estate agents.
Mark said: “I am joining Persimmon at a really exciting time. The housing industry is driving economic recovery and Persimmon has weathered the national downturn well, emerging as the leading house builder thanks to astute management and a clear vision for sustainable long-term growth.
“We have a significant plan to invest in land and our strategy to deliver well-designed properties, priced for the local market, gives us the opportunity to increase our share of the very competitive new homes market.
“I immediately liked the culture of Persimmon and the ambitions of the management team and I am pleased to be bringing my experience to such a successful organisation.”
Away from work, the Southampton-based father of two enjoys cycling, having completed the London to Paris bike race twice for charity, and sailing.
