A property career spanning over 10 years has certainly laid some quality foundations for the new managing director of one of the UK’s leading housing developers.Huw Llewellyn, 44, has been appointed managing director for Persimmon Homes West Wales, who build houses across the west of Wales including Swansea, Llanelli, Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire.
Raised in Anglesey, but with family roots in Carmarthen, Huw, who is a fluent Welsh speaker, is delighted to have joined the biggest name in house building in Wales.
“I am pleased to be joining Persimmon, an incredibly established brand renowned for being an industry leader,” he said.
“The job will be a real challenge, working on such high profile developments as Coed Darcy in Neath Port Talbot and Awel Y Coed in Ty Coch, Swansea. This is a region that is looking towards substantial growth over the next few years.”
Huw began his career in property in 2002 and progressed with other house builders as technical director before joining Persimmon earlier this year.
“With several new land purchases now confirmed and with more in the pipeline, 2013 will be a very exciting year for the region. I am looking forward to working in an area with close family connections and having the opportunity to provide more Welsh house buyers the chance to buy brand new quality homes.”
Persimmon’s West Wales division have undergone some exciting changes in recent months with the relocation of their offices to Swansea. The new office is now in a far more convenient location to all developments and will make it far easier for staff to engage with local house buyers, local authorities and contractors.
The team has also been given a boost with the recruitment of three new trainees, in the technical, commercial and construction departments. And advertising is due to commence very soon for two new sales positions within the team.
Huw continued: “It’s been a great start to the year- moving into our brand new offices located in Penlleergaer, Swansea, right in the heart of the action. We’re very keen to invest in the local community - creating jobs and utilising local constructors and suppliers is very important to us as a business.
“Recruiting a strong local team has also been a great development, and I know the new team will take us forward into what will be a very exciting year for Persimmon Homes.”
