Children in Roebuck Park, Hellingly can now benefit from new children’s playgrounds thanks to a local house builder.
Persimmon Homes South East is transforming acres of open spaces at its Roebuck Park development, into useable play areas which will feature a range of play activities and specialist equipment to cater for children of all ages.
Persimmon Homes has already built over 130 new homes at the Roebuck Park development and more open space phases are expected to be released as the development progresses.
The construction of the play areas forms the first phase of the house builders proposed programme of works over the next 12 months to include, two Local Equipped Area for Play (LEAP), Neighbourhood Equipped area for Play (NEAP), with a variety of play equipment to include a formal kick about area, cricket pitch, allotments, together with an environment to include areas of relaxation adjacent to existing and new water features, alongside the enjoyment of the open spaces.
Chris Heney, development director for Persimmon Homes South East, said: “Our development is expected to make a significant impact on the housing market in Hellingly and the new green, open space will provide a good environment for children to play close to where they live.
“The handover of the first phase of the community park to the Parish Council marks another exciting milestone at the Roebuck Park site.”
