New role for top site manager

25 March 2019

A site manager has been promoted to project manager for a £100million development, following praise from residents and contractors.

Jim Wilkinson, from Northampton, will take up his new role at Scholars Green, on the former University of Northampton site, once his work is completed at the nearby Lime Tree Gardens development in Kingsthorpe.

Simon McDonald, regional managing director for Persimmon Homes Midlands, said: "Good site managers are worth their weight in gold, and Jim is a great example. He has been with us for nearly four years, and the Lime Tree Gardens development he has managed has been completed to the highest standards, so he was the obvious choice to take on our new flagship site in Northampton."

"Jim has a reputation for going the extra mile for customers and takes personal responsibility for the satisfaction of every resident on his development. In fact, two of his children bought Persimmon houses that he built, and he demands the same quality for every buyer that he wanted for his own son and daughter. The feedback we get from contractors and sales staff also demonstrates what a conscientious and reliable team mate he is."

The £100million Scholars Green project will transform the 50-acre brownfield site at Boughton Green Road, ultimately creating approximately 675 new homes to suit a range of buyers. Jim Wilkinson added: "Lime Tree Gardens has been a lovely site to work on, and it is always rewarding to see customers happily settled in their new homes, but I can’t deny I’m looking forward to moving on to this next challenge. I am really proud to be taking on the project management at Scholar’s Green. This is an exciting development that will breathe economic life into the area and lay the foundations for a thriving new community."
