Our West Scotland region is highlighting the benefits of promoting from within at its Glasgow-based business.
West Scotland region has promoted five long-standing and talented members of staff into director roles who will take a strategic lead as demand for new homes continues to rise across Scotland.
Chris Logan is promoted from land director to managing director, taking the overall operational and strategic lead for the business. Chris has built his career over the previous 10 years working in the West Scotland business following his background in local authority planning.
Chris said: “Construction is a highly competitive jobs market, and we are keen to capitalise on the talented people that have worked their way up the career ladder and offer in-depth knowledge of the industry.
“Recognising hard work and loyalty has not only retained our best people, but it’s also a crucial aspect of our succession planning and recruitment approach. In the West Scotland business in particular we have high levels of retention amongst our staff, with an accumulation of more than 100 years of experience across our senior director team.”
The newly promoted sales director, Tara Fitzpatrick, stepped up from her role as fields sales manager bringing with her an understanding of the Scottish property market that is second to none having successfully sold hundreds of homes across Scotland in her 17 years working for the regional business.
New construction director Michael McCarron has more than 21 years’ experience in the construction industry, having worked at our West Scotland region on sites across West Scotland. His eye for quality and ability to manage and meet build targets made him the ideal choice when the previous construction director moved to a national role within the business in Scotland.
Technical director, Craig Watson, was promoted from his design manager role having clocked up almost 19 years working for the business. His journey began back in 2003 working as an architectural assistant where his talent was quickly recognised, resulting in his promotion to design manager. His attention to detail and leadership skills meant he was the ideal candidate for the top technical job.
Craig Moore takes his place as land director having initially joined West Scotland region in 2013, returning in July this year. Craig’s background in land, planning and development spans over 14 years with an in-depth knowledge of the towns and cities within the region.
Chris Logan, said: “Persimmon Homes West Scotland was the first business to establish roots in Scotland more than 35 years ago and we are extremely proud of our strong track record in development and training for our people. Through good communication, training and support our staff retention levels are second to none and these promotions are proof of what can be achieved.
“I have been fortunate to build up a fantastic knowledge and grounding within the construction industry and would recommend Persimmon Homes to anyone looking for a career being part of a team that deliver high specification and volume developments with a strong emphasis on production, quality and customer service.”
“As part of our ongoing succession planning, we are now recruiting for a wide range of roles with opportunities for talented people in all disciplines.
