New Technical Assistant appointed at Persimmon

A new Technical Assistant has been appointed at Persimmon Homes East Midlands.
Emma Johnson, from Peterborough, has joined the company’s Technical team covering Cambridgeshire, Fenland, Lincolnshire, Rutland, North Northamptonshire and Norfolk and will be responsible for producing and amending architectural drawings and information and will be based at the company’s regional operations, in Peterborough.
Commenting on her appointment Emma said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Persimmon Homes at a time when they have recently secured their 5 star quality rating. I am joining a great team and I am particularly looking forward to working on my first site at Barrowby, Grantham in the coming weeks.”
Emma’s appointment comes at a time when the company has launched its’ Target 50 initiative which is an ambition to recruit 50 female apprentices or technical trainees into construction-related roles this year. The initiative forms part of Persimmon’s 50th anniversary celebrations and supports the Company’s commitment to building and retaining a more diverse and inclusive workforce.
Commenting on her appointment, Technical Director Ben Purdy said: “We are delighted Emma has joined the team at an exciting time. We want to actively encourage more motivated and driven female apprentices and technical trainees to join us in construction roles and build a successful career at Persimmon.”
Emma adds: “My ambition is to utilise the training resources Persimmon offers to further develop my technical skills and knowledge. In the future I hope to run further Persimmon sites as an Architectural Co-ordinator.”
Emma’s hobbies include travelling, spending time with her dogs, running and open water swimming.
