NEWCASTLE COMMUNITY FOOTBALL CLUB WINS £20,000 IN BUILDING FUTURES 2021
17 December 2021

A Newcastle community football club has received £20,000 in this year’s Building Futures campaign.
Newcastle Powerchair Football Club enables people with high level disabilities to play a team sport and enhance their personal development.
Rob Thompson from the football club said: “This is brilliant news and we are so pleased to have been awarded this £20,000. Thank you to Persimmon Homes and everyone who took part in the vote, as without them we would not be receiving this fantastic funding boost.
“Winning this money is going to make a big difference. Each specialist chair costs £8,000 and we plan to purchase two new chairs and other equipment we need to be able to run our multiple sessions each week. Our aim is to expand our membership and grow the club and this will be a huge help with our efforts.”
Also representing the North East region were Friends of Grove House and the If U Care Share Foundation, which each receive £5,000.
